Heartsaver CPR, AED and First Aid.

Who is this class for?

Preschool and K to 12 teachers, teaching assistants, daycare and childcare staff, camp counsellors, coaches, church nursery volunteers, personal trainers, foster and adoptive parents, and anyone whose employer or licensing body has asked for documented CPR training. If someone has handed you a form with a box for a certification number, this is the class that fills it.

What does it cover?

Adult, child and infant CPR. How to use an AED, including pad placement on a small body, which is where most people hesitate. Choking relief across all three age groups. And, when you include the First Aid module, the everyday emergencies that are far more likely than cardiac arrest, bleeding control, burns, allergic reactions, seizures, head injuries and how to tell a sprain from something that needs an X ray.

The course is the standard American Heart Association Heartsaver curriculum, so the content is the same nationally recognised material you would get anywhere. What differs is who is teaching it and how. Pam has spent twenty five years in labor and delivery, so when a preschool teacher asks what an eighteen month old actually looks like when they are choking, the answer comes from having seen it rather than from a slide.

Same day cards, and why that matters

Pam issues your American Heart Association course completion card on the day of the class. There is no waiting on a mailed certificate and no chasing a training centre for a PDF three weeks later. Cards are valid for two years. If you are booking because a start date is coming up, say so, and she will work to the deadline.

Can you come to us?

Yes, and for most schools and centres that is the easier path. Pam travels across Indianapolis and the surrounding areas and can teach in a classroom, a staff room or a church hall. For a whole staff, look at custom group training, where the schedule is built around your calendar rather than hers.

How is this different from the CPR party?

The CPR party is a Family and Friends class. It teaches the skill beautifully and it certifies nobody. Heartsaver is the certification track. If you need a card, you need this one. Plenty of families book both, a party for the household and Heartsaver for the person whose job requires paperwork. If you work in healthcare, the course you actually need is BLS.
